Dear campaigners, I’m delighted to inform you that Honduras just
ratified the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, becoming the 50th
state to do so! The treaty will enter into force 90 days from today, on 22
January 2021. This is a major milestone in the development of the
global norm against nuclear weapons. Congratulations to everyone who has worked
so hard since the treaty was adopted in 2017 to convince states to sign and
ratify it! https://www.icanw.org/historic_milestone_un_treaty_on_the_prohibition_of_nuclear_weapons_reaches_50_ratifications_needed_for_entry_into_force Thanks, in particular, to Maria Eugenia for her work
over the past year to bring Honduras on board! And to everyone else who helped
this week to get them over the line! More to come! Kind regards, Tim
